Irvine Mayor and former Assemblyman Don Wagner endorses Dr. Alexandria Coronado for 65th Assembly District Seat

Irvine Mayor and former California State Assemblyman Don Wagner has announced his support for Dr. Alexandria Coronado and her campaign for California’s 65th Assembly District.

Wagner served three terms in the California State Assembly, where he represented the 68th Assembly District. In 2016, Wagner was elected Mayor of Irvine, known as “America’s Safest City.”

“We need leaders in Sacramento like Dr. Alexandria Coronado,” Wagner said. “Dr. Coronado will fight for her district; she’ll ensure common-sense ideas and fiscally responsible policies find their way back to our state Capitol. I know Dr. Coronado is the right choice for the 65th Assembly District.”

“Mayor Wagner has been serving our region for years,” Coronado said. “I am honored to have the endorsement of an experienced legislator and public servant. His knowledge and support will be an important asset to my campaign.”

Coronado is the former President of the Orange County Board of Education. She served as Treasurer for the University of Southern California’s Thornton Alumni Association. As a former Member of the Council of Urban Boards of Education Board of Directors, Coronado is committed to providing opportunities for the future of California’s 65th District.
