Packing House night done right

Your humble writer tried a few new options at the Anaheim Packing House recently, and it amounted to a delicious night. Here’s my formula: grab a friend or loved one and begin the night at Pali Wine Co. in the MAKE Building for some live music, and try one of the $15 flights, a sampling of five of their best. Sit outside in the repurposed-wheelbarrow chairs and people- and dog-watch to your heart’s content on one of these summery nights. When you’re ready, walk across the street to the Packing House and head up into the far upstairs corner that contains Adya, the Indian street food nook. Order up the shrimp curry, and do the $4 upgrade they’ll offer you, which will round out your order with naan (your choice of the butter or garlic variety), salad, lentils, and a delicious yogurt sauce. Your order will take about 20 minutes to prepare, but it’s worth it. After that, check out the current offerings at SEED Peoples Market and the carts near the entrance. It’s a surefire recipe for a terrific night at Anaheim’s almost 100-year old Packing House.
