On Wednesday, January 15, Bring Your Lunch & Learn returns. The program will feature representatives from the Anaheim Police Department Crime Prevention Division. In preparation for tax season, start-of-the-year phone and donation scams and more, this presentation will enable attendees to learn about the many types of scams, provide practical guidelines to reduce or prevent crime victimization. This program is presented as a free service to the community. It starts promptly at 12:30 and concludes at 1:30. You are encouraged to bring your lunch and to RSVP to clatham@muzeo.org.

Currently in the Carnegie Upper Galleries is “2020 A Calligraphy Exhibit,” presented by the artists of the Society of Calligraphy. This exhibit is a collection of many beautiful works by Southern California members, featuring styles from the traditional to contemporary. The exhibit runs through April 26. As part of the Society of Calligraphy exhibit, the first of three free workshops will be presented on Saturday, January 18 from 1-3 p.m. This workshop, “Monoline Calligraphy,” will be presented by renowned artist Barbara Close. The class size is limited to 15 people on a first-come-first-served basis and is open to ages 16 and up. RSVP to exhibits@societyforcalligraphy.org.

On Saturday, January 25 from 1-3 p.m., the Open Book Authors’ Series returns. Award-winning international author Stephen Maitland-Lewis and Southern Californian Steven Deeble will be the featured authors. Maitland-Lewis will discuss his current book “Ambition” and Deeble, his “Persistence of Vision.” The moderator will be John Brantingham, Inaugural Poet Laureate of Sequoia & King Canyon National Park. Sunday, January 26 will bring the end of the annual “Polar Express.”
