James and Lori Dinwiddie from Anaheim are honored as the 2019 Citizens of the Year by the Cypress College’s Americana Foundation Awards. The event was held at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim Feb. 23. The Dinwiddies are credited with having been active in two dozen volunteer works within the city and are said to enjoy bringing happiness to others. Their volunteerism began with the PTA and expanded from there. They both enjoy performing Santa and Mrs. Santa duties. “We have the best jobs in the world and my best volunteering is when I’m in my Santa suit,” said James. “We make room for anything that needs to be done to volunteer and those we interact with are incredible people. If everyone did a little bit, the world would be a better place.”
