Over Veterans Day weekend, a county-wide event was held at the Orange County Fairgrounds, featuring veterans’ resources booths, a food drive for veterans in need and entertainment.

The masses were free to roam the dozens of booths offering health screenings, veteran job resources and more.

Singers and dancers provided onstage entertainment, singing patriotic tunes.

A complimentary lunch and activity booths for kids added to the event.

The Heroes Hall veterans museum was also open for viewing. The museum features Bravemind, an interactive virtual reality exhibit that has been shown to have healing powers for veterans struggling with post traumatic stress. It also contains a Veterans Story Booth, where veterans can record their memories.

At the 2017 Salute to Veterans event, 9.7 tons of food were collected, and organizers hoped to top that this year.
