Cultivation Kitchen, the Anaheim Packing District’s new greenhouse eatery, has been open for almost a month now.
And a visit to experience it in person was enough to convince that it’s a perfect fit for the area: acai bowls, smoothies and avocado toast on the morning menu, salads and proteins packed with superfood add-ons on the afternoon and evening menu, kombucha on tap, organic wines and craft beer, with a driving concept of sustainability and sourcing all ingredients locally and responsibly.
And the restaurant is literally a greenhouse.
It’s hard to imagine anything more Orange County or more Packing District than Cultivation Kitchen.
It’s trendy, and it’s a perfect fit.
Not to mention—it’s very good.
Founder Dale LaFlam and Executive Chef Joshua Korn held the restaurant’s grand opening on May 17, and it’s been doing steady business ever since.
Sunflower hemp hummus, and “the board,” a charcuterie spread of meats, cheeses, breads and spreads are excellent starters.
As far as beverages, you can’t go wrong with any of their kombucha, including flavors such as blueberry tart, mango masala and thai ginger. They also have a canned hard kombucha on the menu, from Bambucha Kombucha, a San Diego-based supplier, that is very good.
And the Mix-N-Match Healthy Plate is a good way to go for the entree. Choose a protein—anything from chicken to “hippie dusted tofu,” and add as many sides as you’d like, including things like cauliflower with turmeric, dates and ashwagandha; roasted butternut squash and wood roasted broccoli.
It really makes for a great night out. The ambience and the food are excellent.
There’s plenty of seating inside, but outside is nice too, as there are fire pits, bocce ball, cornhole and a garden.
Cultivation Kitchen is also partnered with Shadetree Partnership, a nonprofit that plants trees.
And the restaurant will donate 1% of its net profits to local charities.
What’s not to love?
Cultivation Kitchen is located at 350 S Anaheim Blvd., in Farmers Park at the Anaheim Packing District.
