Students from Magnolia School District participated in the 42nd Very Special Arts (VSA) Festival held at the Main Place Mall. Students submitted their artwork and others performed as part of the VSA Opening Ceremonies.

The annual VSA Festival is held each spring and this year’s theme was “You’ve Gotta Have HeArt.”

Students’ artwork was displayed at the Mall and following students were selected for special recognition: Massoud Ali, Baden-Powell; Madison Maravilla, Baden-Powell; Ana Wimbish, Salk; Hailey Valdez, Baden-Powell; Delfino Luis, Baden-Powell; Maycoll (Junior) Arata, Salk; Amy Gomez-Rodriguez, Salk. These students will be recognized at an upcoming Magnolia School Board Meeting.

Students from Baden-Powell and Salk Elementary Schools were featured in the Opening Ceremony of the VSA Festival Saturday, April 21. Two groups of students, supported by their teachers and other staff members, performed for the large crowd of parents, community partners and the general public at the Mall. Both dance numbers were a huge hit with the audience and students were excited to perform and receive the well-deserved attention.
