The Buena Park City Council race featured eight candidates with only two open seats. Those went to some familiar faces. Incumbent Fred Smith topped all other candidates, pulling in the most votes with 6,176. Art Brown, who collected 6,161, snagged the other open seat.

Brown will replace Jim Dow, who termed out. Brown was actually termed out in 2010 and briefly served as the mayor before stepping away. He is the head of the Buena Park Historical Society.
