Wewer has chaired the horseshoe throwing contest during the annual Silverado Days for many years and has been a member of the Lions for 47 years; he still does half of his age in push-ups every morning, along with using exercise equipment at his place of residence.

This year is no different, as Wewer will once again be on hand to oversee the horseshoe tournament at William Peak Park, 7225 El Dorado Dr., in Buena Park, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18, in the horseshoe pit area of the park. Registration is on-site or online at www.SilveradoDays.com; pictured with Wewer from left are Lions member and Centralia School Board member Chris Brown and Buena Park Mayor Art Brown.
