Sergeant Michael Lovchik, third from left, is recognized at this week’s City Council Meeting for his 30 years of service to the Buena Park Police Department. He started working in the city in 1989 as a police reservist. In 2007 he was promoted to Sergeant. He is a longtime Buena Park resident, and his current duties include Community and Media Relations and managing the department’s volunteers and the Explorers program.
