Summer fun and free events on Segerstrom Center’s Julianne and George Argyros plaza continue in July! Local movie buffs are invited to gather on the Argyros Plaza for a whole new slate of films on Movie Mondays presented by Macy’s, starting on July 9 with “Back to the Future.” Other features in the series include “The Princess Bride” on July 16, “Moonrise Kingdom” on July 23 and “The Mask of Zorro” on July 30. And crowd favorites Yappy Hour returns on July 12 with tail-wagging fun and Summer Jazz on the Argyros Plaza every Friday evening featuring Carol Welsman, Yolanda Johnson, Sweet Baby J’ai and Tierney Sutton Band.
World Cup Soccer returns to the plaza! Southern California soccer fans can cheer on their favorite team and share the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat with friends as the final two games are shown in real time on giant HD screens. Come on July 14 at 7 a.m. and July 15 at 8 a.m. to find out who wins. Segerstrom Center’s World Cup Viewing Parties are bound to be fun for the whole family.
On Saturday, July 28, Dizzy Feet Foundation and Segerstrom Center for the Arts join to host the West Coast celebration of National Dance Day. Dancers of all ages and abilities will have the opportunity to celebrate all things dance with guest artists, fully inclusive and interactive dance lessons, and learn this year’s official National Dance Day routine led by “So You Think You Can Dance” all-star Allison Holker.
