Looking for casual and tasty Thai food around Anaheim? Give AM Thai Fusion Cuisine a try. Located at 2941 W Ball Rd., it sits in a nicely revitalized strip mall just off of an otherwise seedy, or at least bland, strip of Beach Boulevard. Yelp encouraged me in its direction, after my husband and I had a hankering for Thai, but wanted to go somewhere we could get takeout so we could get back home to “Shark Week.” AM Thai Fusion was in the top three results, and in the location and price range we were looking for. It proved to be a quality find. It has been operating under its current name for two years. The staff was as friendly as could be, and our food took just long enough for us to know that they were making it fresh, but not so long that it was a notable wait.
Our party stuck with one classic—chicken pad thai—and one something new—massaman curry. On the latter, I was having a hard time making up my mind, so the waitress asked me all about my preferences in flavor and level of spice and recommended massaman, saying that it’s sort of their specialty item, as not many other Thai restaurants around make it.
Both were delicious. The massaman curry has a strong peanut component, and that paired with the coconut milk and the spices made for a tasty new culinary experience. I also ordered a Thai tea with boba, and we got another complimentary one, as purchases of $25 or more (online excluded) get you a free Thai tea.

The prices were very reasonable, and they have an extensive menu that features fish, barbecue, salads, noodle soups and several different curries. Check out their lunch special; they do take-out as well as delivery.
AM Thai Fusion Cuisine can be reached at 714-816-8759. Its hours are 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
