There’s no better time to be a Buena Park resident, especially if you’re a student in or enrolling in college next year and majoring in Communications.

The Buena Park Cable Foundation has established the Communications Scholarship program for residents who have a sincere desire to apply their knowledge and leadership abilities to a career within the field of communications.

Up to $10,000 in scholarships have been set aside for the program with a $2,000 cap per individual award. Each applicant must be a high school senior enrolling or accepted to an accredited college, or a current college student to apply. Awards will be presented at the May 8 meeting of the Buena Park City Council.

A complete application packet must include letters of recommendation, official transcripts and a written essay. The deadline is April 2 at 5 p.m. to Buena Park City Hall, 6650 Beach Blvd., 90621, ATTN: Scholarship Committee. Call 714-562-3550 for more information.
