Thanksgiving Today

By Vera Sidhwa

We give thanksgiving today

And understand its meaning

A happy celebration

Of historic times

Honored by prayer

And great pumpkin pies

Yes and horns of plenty

Yes what a wonderful holiday

Oh my, what a time in the kitchen

The smell of that turkey

Mm mm, we ate everything at the table

Our moms didn’t have to tell us what to do

The pilgrims and native people

Ate turkey too and the pumpkin pie

So delicious!

It’s Thanksgiving time once again.

We all rejoice together!

We will eat together

And know the meaning of this holiday

And spread the word to everyone!

So everyone say your prayers

And eat together and rejoice

For Thanksgiving

Is here!
