Back in November, the Western High School football team won its first ever state championship. On November 23, the Pioneers took on the Peninsula High Panthers in the CIF-Southern Section Division 11 Championship Game and won 49-21.
The Pioneers took a 21-0 lead early and led all game long, never looking back.
At last week’s Anaheim City Council Meeting, players and coaches were on hand to be officially recognized and congratulated by city staff.
