On May 10, an individual who stepped into oncoming traffic on the 91 freeway in Buena Park was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

All that has been released about the victim is that he was an African American male, possibly in his mid-30s.

The incident occurred on the westbound 91 close to Knott Avenue, in the far left lane, around 10 a.m.

The victim, and numerous vehicles and law enforcement officials remained at the scene for some time as they awaited the arrival of the Orange County Coroner.

Approximately one hour after the incident, a circle of vehicles could be seen concealing the victim, as could debris, including a shoe a few yards away.

Lanes remained closed for a couple of hours.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the man was unharmed.

Buena Park Police Department Public Information Officer Sergeant Mike Lovchik said, “Since [the accident] occurred on the freeway, the CHP Westminster Office handled the investigation, so we do not have any more information about it.”
