The Oxford Academy baseball team has been a powerhouse program in recent years.
It captured the 2009 and 2010 CIF Division-VI title and finished as the runner-up in 2011. Though it fell in the quarterfinal round last year, the team still managed to capture the Academy League championship, edging St. Margaret’s by a single game in the standings.
However, the Patriots are struggling this year – and in danger of missing the playoffs. On Tuesday, April 9, they fell to St. Margaret’s, 10-8, in a league contest at home.
