Community members assist in building a rock river of positivity at elementary school
Raymond Temple Elementary School participated in the 3rd annual Love Buena Park event this past Saturday. This community service event had over 20 sites participating with hundreds of volunteers putting in a day of service to areas in Buena Park. At the Raymond Temple campus, over 20 community, school staff and family members participated on this site’s project, including Board of Trustee members Elizabeth Gonzales and Connor Traut.
The project included digging a trench in the existing garden in a shape of a winding river. Once completed, event participants each painted a rock expressing a positive thought or image for students to enjoy in the years to come.

The new River of Positivity will officially open next school year in August. Every student attending Raymond Temple will have a chance to paint a rock and add it to the river. Principal Dr. Estela Salas shared that seating areas will be added to finalize the project, creating an area for students to sit, reflect, rejuvenate and be inspired.
The Centralia School District is located in beautiful Southern California in the northern part of Orange County, between Los Angeles and San Diego counties. Centralia School District was established in 1875 and today, the district’s eight elementary schools are located in the cities of Buena Park, Anaheim and La Palma, serving approximately 4,400 students.
