Dept. of Parks and Recreation seeking candidates that are reflective of California’s diverse population
California State Parks recently launched a new recruitment effort encouraging people to “Live the Parks Life” and experience the adventure, excitement and beauty by working within the nation’s largest state park system. Job opportunities are available statewide in the fields of interpretation and education, recreation, law enforcement, cultural or natural resources, administration, operations or facility maintenance.
Parks are essential to the well-being of environments, economies and people. Cadet Program for Rangers and Lifeguards: Rangers and lifeguards are sworn peace officers who protect natural/cultural resources and public safety, and manage education/interpretation programs. Applications for the cadet program are currently being accepted. Applications are due no later than June 14.
Chief, Information Technology: This is the highest-level authority within the department’s Information Technology and the position’s decisions, policies, processes and practices have a significant impact on both programs and visitors.
Environmental Scientists: Combine your love for science and the outdoors in California State Parks. Scientists help support a variety of functions, including but not limited to natural and cultural resources, facilities and interpretation.
