On Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at approximately 6 p.m., officers from the Buena Park Police Department responded to a residence in the 8700 block of Fillmore Circle, regarding a fireworks complaint. The investigation led to the discovery of large cache of illegal fireworks within the residence. The initial estimate is over 2,000 pounds of fireworks, with a street value of several thousand dollars. Investigators from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Bomb Squad responded to assist with the collection of the explosives. No one was injured, and the residents were cooperative. There were no immediate arrests, pending further investigation.
