Located along the palm-lined and market-light illuminated Center Street Anaheim in CtrCity Anaheim, the renowned vegan comfort eatery, Healthy Junk, is hosting its Sixth Annual Vegan Faire: “We Are the World” on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, free to the public.
“We need a community gathering in every city, a coming together,” said Lynda Santos, Healthy Junk’s Executive Chef, when asked what inspired her to create this fair. “I wanted to bring in new people that might be afraid to try vegan food, that it would be an opportunity for them to see what it’s all about.”
Chef Santos has done just that. Approximately 8,000 vegan and healthy life-style enthusiasts have gathered to partake in this free community event annually. This year, Vegan Faire celebrates “We are the World” with live entertainment representing cultures throughout the world, including Grammy nominated Flamenco guitarist Roger Espinoza, the Phoenix Horse Lion Dancers, Anaheim Elementary School District’s African drum circle, reggae vibes from Eureka Roots and an eclectic mix of danceable grooves from Diversity Band of So Cal. Guests can expect a collection of nearly 100 carefully curated vegan cuisine booths representing mouth-watering creations from around the world such as fried “mozzarella” with homemade marinara, Peruvian Saltado, Mexican tamales, Japanese sushi burritos, colorful Korean dumplings, Salvadorian Pupusas, Cuban bowls, gumbo, southern comfort food, Chinese street food, Ethiopian entrees, Sudanese-style falafel and desserts galore. There will also be a wide assortment of local artisans with an emphasis on sustainability. Attendees can wash it all down with a tropical beverage from the Cocktail Garden hosted by Anaheim Halloween Parade.
Center Street Promenade is conveniently located five minutes from the Interstate 5 Freeway. Admission is free thanks to our sponsors: Califia Farms, CtrCity Anaheim, Sysco, Forager Project, Essentia Water, Republic Services, Renewals by Andersen, and Farmers & Merchants!
