Last Sunday was the kickoff of the Anaheim Packing House’s 100 Year Birthday Celebration. April 7, 1919 is estimated to be the day on which the Packing House began operation, packing local oranges that would be sold and enjoyed far and wide. The Packing House will hold its biggest 100-year celebration later this summer, but the actual anniversary was celebrated on April 7 with various workshops and live music performances, plus a self-guided “beer tour” of all the Packing District’s breweries, as it was also National Beer Day. As they do on most weekends, crowds swarmed the Packing House to enjoy all it has to offer, on the 100th anniversary of the doors being open on this facility with a storied history.
