Giving Children Hope (GCHope) is on the move to tackle child hunger. The Buena Park nonprofit recently partnered with the Buena Park Post Office to bring in more food to feed more children in the city and in Orange County. On May 9, the Buena Park Post Office collected over 12,000 pounds of food for their annual food drive, “Stamp Out Hunger.” This year, the Buena Park Post Office was kind enough to donate all the food to GCHope to give to children in need right here in our own community. Buena Park residents left a bag of food by their mailbox to donate and the mail carriers picked it up on their routes. GCHope helped unload all the food and provided the mail carriers with a barbecue to thank them for their philanthropic efforts.
The turnout for the food drive was incredible. GCHope is grateful to the post office and all the residents that participated in this food drive to help end hunger in Buena Park.
