The Fullerton Joint Union High School District (FJUHSD) held a public ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly modernized Performing Arts Center at Buena Park High School located at 8833 Academy Dr. on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The new Performing Arts Center (PAC) is the 14th official project completed under the current $175 million, voter-approved Measure I bond program.
The Buena Park High School PAC consists of 16,000 original square feet and new addition of 1,043 square feet totaling 17,043 square feet. The auditorium has raised seating aisles, new 255 fixed seating and additional 115 seating for the lower floor. The building has a new lobby and new storefronts along with two ADA restrooms and a ticket booth. There is a new stage addition with ADA ramps to the stage, motorized stage lighting and draperies, and remodeled dressing rooms that include two ADA upgraded restrooms. In addition, the PAC had a complete electrical upgrade, control booth, and new projection equipment along with a new sound system. The building received new paint inside and out, new carpets and ceiling panels, new hardscape front entrance area with ADA ramps to access the building. The new PAC at Buena Park High School is truly a gem to the school site.
“This is the 14th of many outstanding projects that will serve our students for the next 50 years,” said Superintendent Scott Scambray of FJUHSD.
The next phase of high-priority Measure I projects the district is scheduled to kick off is the stadium at Buena Park High School.
