Four high school baseball players from the Anaheim area are participating in the 2018 Breakthrough Series being held in Compton June 19-21 at the Compton Youth Academy.

The players are:

Connor Clift—Canyon HS (graduating 2019) from Anaheim Hills

Through the Breakthrough Series, high school-age players with diverse backgrounds are receiving direct instruction from former Major Leaguers and training alongside their peers from around the country. The series features approximately 60 diverse high school athletes from nine states throughout the country, participating in a special amateur development camp that will also serve as a showcase for professional scouts and collegiate recruiters. 25 alumni of previous Breakthrough Series, or other diverse-focused amateur development camps, were selected in the 2018 MLB Draft. The former major leaguers coaching the students are Tom “Flash” Gordon, Dmitri Young, Eric Davis, Junior Spivey, Darren Oliver, Jerry Royster, Pat Mahomes, Mike Davis, Brian Hunter, Matt Treanor, Jerry Manuel, Tye Waller, Bob Didier, Darrell Miller and Ken Hill.
