Cedric Dashiel II, a Buena Park High School grad who played on the Coyote football team, now plays for Bentley University in Waltham, Mass. He had a noteworthy sophomore season, and his team finished as Northeast-10 Conference champions. Dashiell and teammate Pete Thorbahn were selected for the 2019 Division II-III All-New England team by the New England Football Writers.
Both players will be honored at a banquet in Massachusetts on December 12.
Dashiell led Brantley’s defensive linemen in tackles with 36, including 13 for losses totaling 60 yards and 9.5 sacks. He was second in the conference in sacks and third in tackles for losses, as well as tied for 13th nationally in Division II in sacks per game.
Bentley closed out the season with a five-game winning streak and Dashiell had two TFL in four of those five games.
