The Disneyland Resort and the Anaheim Union High School District have partnered in a comprehensive workforce development program designed to help provide youth and residents of Anaheim with opportunities to develop career skills and the 5C’s (Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Character).
The Disneyland Resort presented the Anaheim Union High School District with a $350,000 check to support the AIME Summer Internship Program. AIME-Anaheim’s Innovative Mentoring Experience, launched in response to a student petition signed by over 5,000 students asking for mentoring experiences to develop soft skills. AIME enlists the support of 55 business partners and has provided mentoring experiences to over 6,500 students with partners such as Kaiser Permanente, Wells Fargo, Rolls-Royce HTC, Anaheim Public Utilities, Disneyland, Lennar and a range of other businesses.
AIME’s mission is to partner with businesses and community organizations to provide students in the Anaheim Union High School District with mentoring experiences that will enhance their college, career and life-readiness skills, as well as build lasting connections within the community. AIME focuses on building capacity for the 5C’s and dual college credit with Fullerton College. This summer AIME will also be growing more student opportunities with a dual credit program at Cypress College.
Through this donation, the Disneyland Resort hopes it can help expand the AIME program to support and grow the summer internship experience to over 500 students in the next three years.
