September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and the Buena Park Library, along with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide, encourages everyone to sign up for a free library card. As honorary chairs of Library Card Sign-up Month, Disney Pixar’s superhero family the Incredibles want to remind people of all ages that a library card opens the door to incredible resources and services.
Today’s libraries are centers for exploring new technologies, such as 3D printing and virtual reality, engaging with others in the community and accessing print and digital resources. Library users can save hundreds of dollars each year on educational and leisure materials, and librarians are eager to assist students and lifelong learners. Libraries provide homework help, story times, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) programs, enriching programs for teens and adults, and a quiet place to study. The Buena Park Library even has such items as ukuleles and laptops available for cardholders to borrow.
A free library card is the key to access all of these and other services. As an added incentive, those who sign up for a Buena Park Library card during Library Card Sign-up Month will receive a goody bag and be entered into a drawing for Incredibles merchandise.
