Uncontested areas for November election cycle see two returning trustees and one new member
Centralia Elementary School District, with schools in the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park and La Palma, did not have candidates on the Nov. 2018 ballot. This is because all three candidates for each respective Trustee Area of the Centralia School District were unopposed candidates, meaning that they were the only candidate vying for the seat. This automatically made each candidate the winner and eliminated the need for an election.
Congratulations to Henry Charoen of La Palma. He is being reelected for a second term in Area 1. Area 1 includes all of Los Coyotes Elementary School attendance zone and portions of Miller and Buena Terra Schools.
Congratulations to Arturo Montez of Buena Park. He is being reelected for a second term, after previously serving multiple terms, in Area 2. Area 2 includes all of Raymond Temple attendance zone and portions of Miller, Buena Terra and Dysinger Schools.
Congratulations and welcome to Luis “Jerry” Flores of Anaheim. The newest trustee will be representing Area 5, which includes all of the attendance boundary for Danbrook School and portions of Centralia and San Marino Schools.
All three board members will be sworn in at the start of the Annual Organizational meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the Centralia Board Room, located at 6625 La Palma Ave.
The Centralia School District is located in beautiful Southern California in the northern part of Orange County, between Los Angeles and San Diego counties. Centralia School District was established in 1875 and today, the district’s eight elementary schools are located in the cities of Buena Park, Anaheim and La Palma, serving approximately 4,400 students.
