Approximately 77 members and friends of Chapter II of Catholic Charities Auxiliary came to support the Quartermania fundraiser that was held at St. Pius V Parish Hall on Saturday, April 2. The successful event raised over $2,100 for Catholic Charities of Orange County. Each Quartermania participant donated $15.00 for a sack lunch, one paddle to bid with and one free opportunity ticket to win items donated by the vendors. Participants used quarter coins to bid on 80 items that 10 vendors offered for auction, and they could purchase more opportunity drawing tickets.

Participants used quarter coins to bid on 80 items that 10 vendors offered for auction, and they could purchase more opportunity drawing tickets. There was also an opportunity to win $100 worth of lottery tickets. Proceeds from the donations for the lunches, the opportunity tickets, the lottery tickets, and other generous donations from members and friends, all contributed to the total funds raised. Marge Flannigan, director of Chapter II of Catholic Charities Auxiliary, said that she would like to thank everyone who gave their time, talent and treasure to make the Quartermania fundraiser a big success. Besides the 77 people who came to the event, there were some people who donated funds outright and others who could not come but still donated funds to help Catholic Charities. Marge’s entire family, including her husband and granddaughter, were involved with helping to prepare the colorful sack lunches for everyone. Marge especially thanked Laurie Bois, President of Catholic Charities Auxiliary, who provided the lemonade, coffee and iced tea for the event and delivered the delicious Subway sandwiches for the lunch. Laurie also donated any leftover food to the homeless shelter in Buena Park. Chapter II members were grateful for the support they received from their families, friends and members of the other Chapters in Catholic Charities Auxiliary. It took everyone’s help to make this fundraiser a success! Chapter II of Catholic Charities Auxiliary includes parishioners of parishes in the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Garden Grove, Westminster, Stanton, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach, Cypress and La Palma.
