On Saturday, April 28, hundreds of volunteers came together to celebrate Love Buena Park, the 3rd annual day of volunteerism in the City. Buena Terra School had a wide variety of projects and a great response from volunteers.
Buena Terra School students, staff and parents, along with the staff of local restaurant Rock & Brews, as well as Boy Scout Pack 936, came together to volunteer for a day of service at the school. Volunteers worked in the kindergarten garden, planting new greenery as well as helping to inventory and organize the school’s emergency supplies bins to ensure that Buena Terra is well-prepared in case of a natural disaster.
Mr. Cook, Boy Scout Pack 936 leader and Buena Terra parent, has been volunteering with his family for the past three years.
“Love Buena Park is an opportunity for me to give back to the community I grew up in and an opportunity for me to teach my son and daughter the importance of paying it forward,” said Cook.
Principal Dr. Dominic Nguyen shared that “It is because of community members like the Cook family, and the wonderful Buena Park community that make Buena Terra the great school it is today.”
