Buena Park’s Entertainment Zone is flourishing with new developments, enhancing to its already abundant attractions. Known as the entertainment capital of Southern California, the city will continue its legacy by adding several new high profile dining venues, world–class shopping, modern hotels and a five million dollar renovation project along Beach Boulevard.

The Source, opening in 2015, is a 450,000 square foot urban center featuring world-class shopping, diverse dining options and cutting edge technology. The space is designed to reflect the digital energy of Times Square, the visual energy of Tokyo and the avant-garde of Seoul. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to see some of their favorite musical artists at the 2,000 seat performance venue presented by YG Entertainment. In 2016, phase two of the project will see the construction of a 150 all-suite hotel that will feature meeting space, dining and a roof-top pool and bar.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Band Kiss will soon be opening up their popular restaurant Rock & Brews in Buena Park. This location will open by the end of 2015 and be their only restaurant in Orange County. The 6,650-square-foot restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor seating areas, live bands, beach volleyball court and kid’s area. Guests can indulge in their famous made-to-order hamburgers, freshly prepared chicken wings, hand-crafted pizza, Memphis style ribs, hearty salads, beer battered seafood and on tap craft beers and local wines.

Porto’s Bakery and Café, Los Angeles’s most popular Cuban restaurant will open its first Orange County location in the summer of 2016. This world-famous bakery began its humble beginnings in 1960when the Cuban family opened its first store in Hollywood. Due to their overwhelming popularity the bakery quickly expanded to three 20,000 square foot locations that each welcome over 2 million visitors a year. The Buena Park location will be in the heart of the Entertainment Zone and feature a late-night gelato bar. Visitors from all over the world will be able to try their freshly made cakes, decadent pastries, signature potato balls and unique Cuban sandwiches.
Buena Park’s next big attraction, Butterfly Wonderland will occupy the 8.7-acre Beach Boulevard property once home to the Movieland Wax Museum. Opening in early 2017, visitors will be immersed in a lush rainforest environment complete with waterfalls, tropical plants and natural sunlight. The sanctuary will be home to thousands of butterfly’s from all over the world that fly freely landing on plants, flowers and even a friendly visitors shoulder or finger.  The Wonderland will also be home to hummingbirds, a jellyfish aquarium, a 3D theater, café and retail shop – making it not only fun but also educational.
Voyage to the Iron Reef, is the newest 4-D interactive ride opening at Knott’s Berry Farm in May 2015.Guests who have what it takes to become brave deep sea navigators will climb aboard submarine-inspired vehicles and embark on an adventure into the Iron Reef that combines the fun of a theme park ride with the interactivity of high tech video games. The submarines will navigate 600 feet of track and 11 colossal scenes featuring hundreds of media-based creatures and live action special effects. The interactive voyage features a different experience every time and reacts to the actions and accuracy of the guests onboard. Riders will aim their freeze rays at ballooning mechanical puffer fish, an iron clad octopus and other exciting 3-D creatures as they compete against their friends and family to blast the most sea life and save Knott’s from a watery doom.
Teatro Martini, anew cabaret style show, seating up to 210 guests, will be opening September 2015 inside the popular venue

‘lPirate’s Dinner Adventure. The show is tailored to a more mature audience and will offer an energetic evening of non-stop comedy, daring acrobatic acts, live music and unique performances paired with fantastic dining.
With locations in New York and Seoul Korea, The Stanford Hotel, slated to open in 2016, will bring their popular boutique hotel concept to Buena Park. The ten story, 150-room property will offer visitors modern accommodations with luxurious amenities right in the heart of the Entertainment Zone. After a long day of fun, visitors will be able to relax at the hotel spa or dine at their upscale restaurant and wine bar.
The DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton is expected to open in early 2017 in between La Palma Avenue and the 91 freeway, in the center of the Entertainment Zone. Visitors will be able to enjoy DoubleTree’s signature fresh baked cookies, spacious accommodations and indoor pool. The nine story property will feature meeting space, 150 upscale rooms and a Brazilian themed steakhouse and bar.
The city is working with AECOM, the leading engineering design firm in its industry to develop a five million dollar Streetscape Plan to restore the Entertainment Zone from the 91 Freeway to La Palma Avenue. The beautification strategy includes expanding the sidewalks, installing covered benches, sustainable landscaping throughout, lighting enhancements, water features, monument signs, large LCD screens, way finding banners and pedestrian maps.  The project should be completed by early 2016.
