Christine Panlasigui, 15, of Buena Park was selected as a finalist in the Crème de la Kids qualifying round for KaraokeFest 2015 on Saturday, June 6 at the Orange County Market Place, the weekend swap meet at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa.
Christine Panlasigui, 15, of Buena Park was selected as a finalist in the Crème de la Kids qualifying round for KaraokeFest 2015 on Saturday, June 6 at the Orange County Market Place, the weekend swap meet at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa.
She will now head to the finals at KaraokeFest 2015 slated for Sept. 19 at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona. KaraokeFest, presented by Karaoke Scene Magazine, is the largest competition of its kind for karaoke style singing. Last year Panlasigui won first place overall in the Crème de la Kids finals.
Panlasigui, who will be among 20 finalists selected to compete at the Fair, sang Beyonce’s “Listen.” Three more Saturdays of qualifying rounds will be held at the Orange County
Market Place: June 13, 20 and 27. There is a $5 registration fee. There is
also a contest for Crème de la Tributes for music impersonations of popular vocal stars.
Sign ups for the Kids is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and singing begins at 11 a.m. Tributes can sign up from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with singing starting at 1 p.m.
There is a separate competition for Elvis Tribute Artists, which has qualifying rounds in August, and the finals are held in conjunction with the annual Elvis Festival at the Market Place, which will be Sunday, August 30.
