A string of robberies that occurred at convenience stores Monday night into the early morning hours of Tuesday in Buena Park is currently being investigated by local authorities.
Said authorities cannot confirm whether the three robberies are related, but all evidence seems to be pointing that way.
At around 10 p.m. Monday, a man in a mask entered Cupps Liquor in the 7800 block of Commonwealth Avenue in Buena Park, and armed with a handgun, ordered a customer to the ground, then forced the employee present to open the cash register. Two accomplices joined him and took $100, a laptop, and liquor.
About a half hour later, at Monroe Liquor at 8800 Knott Ave. in Buena Park, a call came in of a similar break-in occurring. The men were armed with knives and chased the worker into a back room, pepper sprayed him and forced him to open the cash register. They took cash, liquor and cigarettes.
The third and final event occurred at a 7-Eleven in Norwalk, at 12361 Imperial Highway. The three men came in, the worker was pepper sprayed again and money and miscellaneous items were stolen.
