An assistant varsity softball coach has been sentenced to six months in jail for smoking marijuana with minor softball players.
The coach is Tiffani Lee Aguirre, 22, of Anaheim. At the time of the crime, Aguirre was an assistant coach at a high school in Anaheim.
On or about March 17, 2017, Aguirre is accused of driving three minor female softball players to a park in Buena Park, furnishing marijuana to them and smoking it with them in her vehicle.
Between May 1, 2017 and May 31, 2017, Aguirre is further accused of furnishing and smoking marijuana with players on two occasions in Newport Beach.
On Aug. 18, 2017, a staff member at the high school contacted Anaheim Police Department (APD) to report concerns about Aguirre.
APD investigated this case.
Aguirre pleaded guilty on Aug. 31, 2018 to three counts of furnishing marijuana to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of unlawful transportation, importation, sale or gift of marijuana.
