Knott Avenue Christian Church in Anaheim celebrated its first Inaugural Car and Comedy Show recently to the delight and intrigue of many local citizens. Many eventgoers joined congregation members to enjoy a delicious breakfast together, then headed into the church auditorium to enjoy a live comedy show. Later on, the guests went out to enjoy a car show that featured all types of rides. There were hot rods, American muscle cars, European cars, Japanese street racing cars, low riders and even Harley Davidson motorcycles. The church also had booths where people could sign up and get information about partaking in other activities like bowling, hiking, fishing, hunting, skeet shooting and other outdoor fun.

“We are very happy with presenting our first car show and comedy show,” explained Edgar Garcia, who is the Executive Pastor of Operations and Marriage and Family Pastor of Knott Avenue Christian Church. “We hope to continue to do this show annually, and we just want to let everyone know that everyone is invited. The Men’s Committee of our church came up with this nice idea, and we all decided to participate. Paul Crandell, who is our Lead Pastor, was also excited about it.”

Garcia also says that all types of cars are welcome to participate in the church’s car show.

“It doesn’t matter what type, brand or style that you have; all drivers and their vehicles are welcome to come out and show off to the viewers.”

Knott Avenue Christian Church also has other events that it takes part in like the Women’s Coffee House, where the women in the church have an empowerment conference, followed by a fun comedy show and arts and crafts sessions. They also have a fashion portion of the event where women discuss different new, fun and innovative styles of dresses, makeup and hairdos. The women of the church also hold a bake sale with all types of delicious goodies. The event is all meant to inspire the women to show off their different talents. Knott Avenue Christian Church has been holding the event every winter for a total of seven years.

Another event that the church holds every year is the Children’s Christmas Winter Event, where the church officials rent a train for the children to take rides on and a giant snow slide to go on a toboggan ride. This event in particular has been a major hit with the citizens of California.

“Every year, we get more than 2,000 visitors to our church from all over the state,” explains Garcia. “We have been throwing this festival every December for three years.”

Another event that the church recently held was their Women’s and Mother’s Day Event. At this event, children made arts and crafts with their mothers, and the happy moms also received free flowers, tea and desserts. A photo booth was also on hand at the event so moms could take photographs with their babies.

Said Garcia, “One of our main values here is to welcome all newcomers, and to also answer some life or spiritual questions that they may have. If people don’t understand what we believe, but want to learn more, we can help them with that. If there are folks who don’t believe what we believe but want to also learn more, and if we differ in those beliefs, that is okay also. What is important is that we are all coming together to get to know each other, and to share our time together. The whole point is to welcome one another as if we are friends or family.”

Knott Avenue Christian Church is located in the City of Anaheim at 315 Knott Ave. They welcome anyone who wishes to worship with them, meet new friends and have a good time.
