Valarie Orona of Loara High School, graduating in 2019, attended the Softball Elite Development Invitational, operated by Major League Baseball and USA Softball, at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla., July 6-10.
The Softball Elite Development Invitational hosted approximately 90 top-level softball players (18 and under) from diverse backgrounds for a spring training-like one-week development. Players were instructed by elite coaches and players, including program, Olympians and members of the USA Softball National Team.
Coaches included Jennie Finch (Olympic Gold Medalist) and Jenny Topping (Olympic Gold Medalist and former member of Women’s National Team).
