On Saturday, March 24, Dr. Patricia Adelekan of Anaheim was one of 104 women honored by Congressman Lou Correa and presented with a 2018 Women of Distinction Award during Women’s History Month at the River Arena Church in Anaheim.
As Congressman, this was the first inaugural event honoring women. During the ceremony, the Congressman stated that the importance of women in our homes, schools, churches, communities, and world can never be overestimated.
He said even though his mom passed away about two years ago, he still misses her and that the hurt never goes away. He encouraged more people to nominate more deserving women next year so that the arena will be filled to its 2,000 seat capacity.
“I am happy that someone nominated me,” said Adelekan. “I am grateful.”
