Anaheim Police homicide detectives have identified Mark Lawrence Jennings, a 46-year-old Anaheim resident, as the suspect arrested for killing his girlfriend on the morning of June 27.
Around 7:30 a.m., Anaheim Police responded to a call from Jennings stating he thought he had killed his girlfriend. Officers found Jennings sitting in the driveway of his residence at 895 S. Cardiff St. Jennings said his girlfriend was probably deceased inside the residence and that he had opened a gas line inside. Personnel from Anaheim Fire & Rescue and Anaheim PD made immediate entry and found 40-year-old Beverly Millard deceased inside. There was no evidence a gas line had been turned on.
While detectives have not released the cause of death, they have declared Millard’s death a homicide. Millard resided at the residence with Jennings who was arrested at the scene without incident. He was later booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility for one count of murder. Jennings is being held at Orange County Jail on $1,000,000 bail.
