An Anaheim daycare employee was sentenced to 25 years to life Jan. 4 for sexually assaulting two children.
The defendant is Daniel Antonio Martinez, 20, of Buena Park. He pleaded guilty on Aug. 28 to three felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 and three felony counts of sexual penetration with a child under ten years old, with sentencing enhancements of multiple victims and substantial sexual contact with a child.
At the time of the crime, Martinez was employed in a position of trust with access to children at a daycare facility in Anaheim.
Between Aug. 1, 2016 and Nov. 9, 2016, Martinez sexually assaulted a 6-year-old female and a 7-year-old female.
On Nov. 9, 2016, the 6-year-old told a family member she was experiencing pain. Martinez digitally penetrated the victim earlier that day.
The victim’s family member reported the assault to the police.
The Anaheim Police Department identified the other female during their initial investigation.
On Nov. 9, 2016, Martinez was arrested by APD.
