There are not too many people with the heart of Bruna Serato. Serato’s has the heart of a lion. In fact, the owner of the famous White House restaurant, which is located in Anaheim, has the heart of a child.

And that’s a good thing for many young people who go to bed at night hungry. This is where Serato transforms himself from world famous food chef to a midnight angel, feeding as many as 1,000 children daily. Serato doesn’t see himself as such; he basically does what he does out of the strength of humanity.

And that’s a good thing for many young people who go to bed at night hungry. This is where Serato transforms himself from world famous food chef to a midnight angel, feeding as many as 1,000 children daily. Serato doesn’t see himself as such; he basically does what he does out of the strength of humanity.

He knows what it is like to grow up without a whole lot. As a successful chef and business owner, Serato is not the type of guy to lay on his hump while others walk around the streets, live in motels, and are forced to go to whatever bed they can lay their heads on without having something in their stomachs.

This is especially true for children, whom Serato has a heart for and an genuine warmth for the little people. Every night, Serato and a couple of other folks gather around and put their philanthropy hats on to take food to different areas of Orange County to make sure some child get a belly full of pasta and other edible items.

This has become Serato’s mission. Sure, he has the lavish restaurant he owns near the downtown area of Anaheim that tend to draw in an upscale cliente. But Serato’s heart is with the kids. He’s been recognized by CNN as a hero for his good deeds. He has been bestowed with many honors for taking the time to give back to those less fortunate or at-risk.

Serato doesn’t see this as some tall task being required of him; he sees what he does as duty, an obligation to help his fellow man. But it’s much deeper than that. Serato recognizes the pain. He sees the vulnerability of the children when they are not eating at night.

He parades in and out of the Orange County area, navigating his way through cities such as Buena Park, Anaheim and Cypress, feeding children living in motels and perhaps situated somewhere where it might be difficult to locate a meal.

The uniqueness of what Serato does is that he touching the lives of young children in different ways. The children that Serato and his Caterina’s Club (named after his mother) program feed on a daily basis come from various backgrounds. Children and students in the 10 different  afterschool programs in Orange County that Caterina’s Club reaches, have great joy when Serato pulls up to drop some food off for them.

At a recent trip to the Boys & Girls Club of Buena Park, Serato and his group brought pasta and a special treat for the youngsters to feat on. That generosity has paid dividends in a lot of ways for both Serato and children living in the local area.

For Serato, it means surpassing a milestone that many would find hard to believe. The Caterina’s Club has surpassed going over $1 million in food and services the program has provided to the Boys & Girls Club since the inception in 2004. Serato lives by the motto of judging anyone but to be there to assist and help.
